South Sefton Sixth Form College - Web Design
The Brief
SSSFC asked 4040 Media to create a website that would allow them to be in control of the website content, manage it, add and remove sections as necessary. They wanted the website to look professional whilst being relevant to their target market (Students in high school looking for a sixth form college). SSSFC wanted the design to follow their brand and be similar to their existing literature. The look had to be fresh, interesting, informative and useful.
The Spec
4040 Media provided a HTML/CSS website with a content management system. This would allow SSSFC to add/remove/edit content as and when they like. We created a design that would allow visitors to get to almost and page from any page. This makes navigation of the site straightforward. We created a modern design with rotating content that keeps the site interesting and fresh. We emphasised the great pictures SSSFC had and used video as often as possible to help show what SSSFC is like to students browsing the site.

SpecUlite - Web Design
The Brief
4040 Media were asked to create a website that demonstrated the range of services SpecUlite could offer and showed the scale they were operating at. SpecUlite wanted particular attention to the retail work they had undertaken. The website had to be easy to navigate with simple icons for each service.
The Spec
4040 Media provided a HTML/CSS website with a content management system so that SpecUlite could add and change content as their business evolved. We provided a full blog system that follows the design of the website. This blog can be easily updated by SpecUlite through their content management system we implemented. This helps keep the content fresh on the website and will increase visitor engagement. At SpecUlites request we created easy to understand icon buttons for each service. These are visible on every page except the homepage and news pages. This allows users to quickly get to any of SpecUlite’s service pages from any page they are on.

DMPM Construction - Web Design
The Brief
DMPM wanted a website that showed their professionalism as a building company. They wanted to show visitors that they are a large building company and not a man with a van. They wanted to display projects they have completed showing their range of skills. It was important that the website was easy to navigate and had a strong emphasis on their green construction credentials.
The Spec
4040 Media recommended an HTML/CSS website with 4 different layouts. One for the front page, one for the Sustainable page, one for the case studies, services and past projects pages. The website would be easy to extend with further case studies as each has its own page. This will allow DMPM to grow the site as time goes on. The website is heavily focused around pictures of jobs and past projects. This allows visitors to get a real understanding of what DMPM do and how they do it.

Sight & Sounds - Web Design
The Brief
4040 Media’s brief was to create a website that emphasised the use of High Definition Video. We were given a list of websites that Sight & Sounds liked the design of. We were also informed that the website had to be easy to update, be easy to navigate, be clean and modern in design and really show off the high quality video Sight & Sounds make.
The Spec
4040 Media recommended an HTML/CSS website with a content management system so that Sight & Sounds could easily update the blog entries and add / remove / edit content from the main pages with ease. We used a script based on the Video for Everybody script. This allowed us to make sure the video in Sight & Sounds website would play no mater what the visitors computer configuration as it supports flash and HTML playback.

Alertful - Email Marketing
The Brief
An email campaign was required to notify all users and people who had requested to be notified of launch that Alertful for Business had been launched. The aim of the email was to display the core benefits of the service and give users a clear way to go to the website to learn more and sign up.
The Spec
4040 Media created a quirky email that used illustrations and graphical elements to grab peoples attention and generate interest. This helped convey Alertful’s values of being a high quality design oriented service.
The Outcome
The campaign achieved a fantastic result with many new user registrations. The campaign also helped extend the reach of the email campaign to the masses by being featured on email galleries and design blogs for the design of the campaign. This in turn helped generate further traffic to Alertful.

WSR Recycling - Web Design
The Brief
4040 Media was asked to create 2 new, modern websites for WSR Recycling. WSR had 2 areas of the business that they wanted to display on the web as separate entities. Firstly their recycling business and secondly their skip hire business. The websites needed to be easy to navigate, give people all the basic information they might need and make it easy for them to get in contact with the business.

4040 Media recommended an HTML/CSS website with a design that could be used for the 2 sites but with different colours, images and content. This would help keep the websites noticeably by the same company but also help split the services as 2 separate parts of the business..

Logic Estate Agents - Web Design
The Brief
Logic asked 4040 Media to create a new look for their website. They currently had a strong brand using the colours Red and Black. Logic wanted to keep the website very easy to use but wanted to refresh the look, make it cleaner and more modern. They wanted a full refresh that would keep their brand moving forward. They key for the website was ease of use. The old website had 2 large buttons on the front page, one for sales and one for lettings. These needed to feature on the site in some way.
The Spec
4040 Media recommended the introduction of white into the design to help make the website cleaner and easier to look at. We implemented a range of property pictures that logic had on their books at present or in the past. We kept the benefits of working with logic clear and easy to see and we made sure that the “For Sale” and “To Let” buttons were placed prominently on the front page to make viewing Logic’s properties easy to do and only 1 click away.

BCG Accountants - Email Marketing
The Brief
4040 Media was given the brief of creating an email campaign for BCG Accountants to convey the key points of the Annual Government Budget to their clients. The campaign needed to look good, be easy to understand and use and follow BCG’s brand.
The Spec
4040 Media suggested that short articles be used for each key point from the budget. We also recommended that each article link to a more in depth review of each point so their customers could read up further on the points that were of interest to them. This way we could track clicks and interaction with the campaign.
The Outcome
The email was delivered by 4040 Media a day after the budget was announced. The campaign was a success with BCG’s clients with 45% of recipients opening the campaign and 25% clicking to read more information on articles.

FX Leisure - Email Marketing
The Brief
FX Leisure asked 4040 Media to design an email campaign to send to their customers. The aim of the campaign was to stimulate some new business by asking their existing customers to bring a friend for a free day pass. The email needed to show off the facilities and make it easy for their customers to download the free day pass voucher.
The Spec
We recommended the use of large images to show off FX Leisure’s fantastic facilities. We also recommended a short introductory paragraph to outline the offer and a large graphic for users to click to download the voucher.
The Outcome
The campaign went well with 37% of opening recipients clicking to download the voucher. The campaign translated into a real ROI for the club with a number of vouchers used and a number of new member sign ups.
